SharePoint Form Generator

Most SharePoint lists and libraries include data entry forms when you want to add an item, but what happens when you want to allow a certain group
of users to add items to a list, but not be able to view the items? or when you need to embed your form in your page? The SharePoint Form Generator
allow all users to add entries to the list, and can be used to generate rich UI forms with field validation to be embed in your pages. The Web Part supports all types of columns used in SharePoint lists.

How can you hide colums you do not want to show up for the input ?

Yes, the web part does not display Hidden and ReadOnly colums.

This is just what I've been looking for. Works great as is, but I do look forward to new release. Need to be able to pick and choose what I need to show on submission form. Please continue the project because I see great potential with it.

This web part should really help us. We added a very basic capability to specify the order that fields should display, and also to hide fields (that aren't marked hidden -- because we still want to see them in the list).

But my question has to do with the regex feature. When I click Submit, I get the following error:

Could not load file or assembly 'CMS.SharePoint.CFT_RegEx, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a880ba84c9912337' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

That dll isn't in the sfg.wsp. I tried manually putting it into the GAC via gacutil, but still get the error. Where should that file go, and does it have dependencies? (We did not install the regex feature.)

To install the CMS.SharePoint.CFT_RegEx assembly in the GAC you can deploy the SharePoint Custom Field Type - Regular Expressions project on codeplex http://spregex.codeplex.com/

Well done, the webpart is covering a great gap in Sharepoint 2007.

Hi Alon

We have just completed a migration from SP2007 to SP2010 and we are using your SharePoint Form Generator. One think which we have noticed is that any fields which are dates don't save the selected details, but revert to today's day & time.

Any Ideas how this can be fixed?

This seems like a great web part, but it didn't show up as a site collection feature when I deployed the .wsp to SharePoint 2010 Foundation-- I'm guessing I'm missing dependancies. Is this web part appropriate for SharePoint 2010, and if not, are there plans to make a 2010 version available?
